In the facility, I was training up to 14 dogs at one time, mostly 6-12. Now that I’m on my own, I have space to focus on one or two breeds at a time, while also drawing on that mass production experience. Lately I’ve been working with a Boxer named Cash (not the first Boxer named Cash I’ve trained!). It’s been great to work with him in his own environment and see the contrast between how Boxers typically respond to training in a facility, versus how Cash is behaving in training now. I know all dogs have individual personalities and they can’t be boiled down to breed tendencies. But witnessing those tendencies in different scenarios has been very eye-opening.
